Corrective Pictures

Before
This is a week old colt, his tendons had not yet tightened up, leaving him rockered back on his heels.
Here I glued the shoes on and left extended heels which will allow this colt to stand up right.
Gluing on the shoes.
After

In a couple of weeks this colt should be able to stand up right, on his own.

Before

This is an example of neglect. The client that owns this horse
purchased it like this. They were hoping to try and save it.
With regular trims it is now doing great!
After

Before

This damage more than likely was caused by a rock working
up thru the sole and out thru the hoof wall.
After

Correction was made by fitting with a side clip shoe to help support
the lateral side of the hoof wall. I then used an adhesive product to rebuild the hoof wall.

Before

This horse had a couple of different problems. The main problem
was a bowed tendon, and the second problem is, the hoof was injured
by getting caught on some barn tin.
After

The type of shoe for a bowed tendon usually depends on the
terrain where the horse is kept. The primary objective of
the shoe is to relieve tendon strain by raising the heels.
This horse did not have an inside stall to be kept in. Therefore
I extended the barstock on the back of the shoe, which raised
the heel and helps keep it from sinking in the mud and putting
pressure back on the tendon.
